Girls Getaway to Mexico: 5 Days in Puerto Vallarta

Our girls getaway to Mexico had some hilarious moments and was a really well-rounded trip – we got to relax, take in Puerto Vallarta’s colorful sights, and experience its lively nightlife scene. This marked my third friends/girls trip of the year, and boy did it get off to a rocky start though. Firstly, I need to stop picking these redeye and 5:30am flights just because I think I’m saving money. I actually ended up paying $42 to take a Lyft to the airport, which I think brought me pretty close to how much a better timed flight would’ve been. Learn from my mistakes!

After competing in Cotopaxi Questival in San Francisco, one of my oldest friends and I almost immediately jetted off to Orlando, Florida for some much needed pool time, shopping, local exploration, and most importantly – to get lost in the wonders of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The amount of detail at the theme park is truly spectacular and we never wanted to leave! I’ve stayed in Airbnb accommodations almost two dozen times now and common questions I get are, “is it safe? Aren’t you scared something bad might happen?” And to be honest, I’ve never been paranoid or had a bad experience thus far *knock on wood*. The Airbnb homes I’ve stayed in have been positive across the board internationally. I’ve stayed in Airbnbs across the United States, Asia, and Western Europe and the hosts have all been very welcoming, organized, and gracious. They want those 5 star reviews!

Weekend Trip: My Ultimate Mendocino County Travel Guide

Every Labor Day weekend, Roger and I choose somewhere new to visit for a whirlwind weekend trip and this year was no exception. We drove 3.5 hours north from our home in Berkeley, California for a two night stay in the quaint seaside town of Fort Bragg with a range of stops and sights along the way. Fort Bragg exceeded my expectations – its shops offer great local Etsy-esque pieces, their restaurants provide beautiful scenic views, and I loved how we found parking literally everywhere we went. Mendocino County as a whole was a gorgeous destination with its numerous state parks, wineries, and friendly small towns. We packed as much as possible into our three day visit!
